The average client in a debt management program is age 45 with income of $40,925 and $22,032 of unsecured debt owed to 6.8 creditors. 54% are homeowners. 65% are female; 13% are divorced. The average household has two to three members. 64% are Caucasian, 26% African American, 6% Hispanic.

Activity in year 2007:
Budget Counseling: CCCS Atlanta/CredAbility provided more than 61,000 free, confidential budget and debt counseling sessions.
Debt Management: 16,300 consumers paid nearly $100 million to their creditors through CCCS debt management plans.
Education: We provided money-management education for 32,681 people in classroom settings and through interactive online courses.
Housing Counseling: 29,225 clients received help on housing issues.
Bankruptcy Counseling & Education: We conducted 165,210 bankruptcy counseling sessions online, on the telephone and in person in branch offices throughout North Georgia, South Florida, East Tennessee and Central Mississippi. We also provided pre-discharge education to 88,257 consumers.
